Bakı şəhər heyvanat parkı (Azarbaycan)
Azerbaijan’s capital city is a zoo in Baku. The zoo in Baku was established in 1928 during the Soviet Union. According to official figures, Baku Zoo was established on January 2, 1942. However, in 1928 the first zoo garden was established in the present Nizami Park in the former Lunacharski Park of the Baku city, and the present Baku Zoo is the continuation. The Baku Zoo is located in the city center of Baku and is operated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the Baku Municipality. The land of the zoo is 4.25 hectares. 
The Baku Zoo performs important tasks such as protecting and increasing the rare and endangered animal species. There are warehouses and laboratories in Baku Zoo Garden to hide the genes of common and rare and endangered animal species found in various parts of the world as well as the fauna of Azerbaijan.
There are approximately 1,193 animals and 168 species in the zoo.
